You jump down from your post, and nothing happens. Just to be safe, though, you mention the incident to Sam.

"Oh yeah, there was a piece of exploded shrapnel in that tree. The Lieutenant saw it earlier," Sam tells you. You're relieved that it wasn't a German sniper, and you head over to breakfast.

After breakfast, the leader of your squadron inspects all the men. Everyone seems to be in good shape in the few hours they've been here.

"Now listen up, men," he starts saying, "It's rare for a rookie squadron like ours to be assigned a mission like this, but we're short on men. We need to collect intelligence from the German Camp." A raid! Someone mentioned this in Basic Training, but you didn't think that you'd be given this opportunity— at least until you've been here a few months. "So, who'd like to volunteer to come along?"

Sam eagerly puts up his hand, but you are a little more reluctant. It's dangerous, and you haven't been tested in the field.
